Mineola VFD hosting benefit softball tournament for Joe Yeakley

MINEOLA, TX (KLTV) -

Mineola firefighters are planning an event to help raise money for an injured firefighter.

The Mineola Volunteer Fire Department will host a benefit tournament for Lindale Firefighter Joe Yeakley who was injured while battling a structure fire in January 2014. This will be a Ragball tournament, and will be held at the Mineola Youth Foundation, located at 6045 FM 1254 in Mineola on April 5, 2014.

The organizers hope to have a FD division with at least ten teams. This is open to active, retired, paid or volunteer. They say they will also have a co-ed division with a minimum of three females and up to five. Entry fee is $200/team.

Contact Mineola Firefighter Doug Coffman at 903-352-8639 or Mineola Fire Chief David Madsen at 903-312-7660 or dmadsen@mineola.com for more information.

All proceeds will benefit Joe Yeakley.
