WSFA 12 NEWS DEFENDERS: Bullying Prevention Resources

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

More than 100 people called in to the WSFA 12 NEWS DEFENDERS Bullying Prevention Hotline Thursday.

It was one small way in which WSFA 12 News is trying to shine the spotlight on a problem that rears its head daily at schools across Alabama and the nation. All too often it pushes someone to a breaking point that can even lead to suicide.

While our hotline has closed, your access to professionals from valued partners like The Family Sunshine Center, Child Protect and others is still available.

    The UT-Tyler Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its second annual special Olympics with swoop on Monday night. Numerous Patriot athletes took time out of their normal practice and school routine to participate in the event and give kids a night of fun they normally don't experience.

    Jason Hook officially hired at Chapel Hill.Jason Hook officially hired at Chapel Hill.

    A new era of Chapel Hill football will begin this fall. Jason Hooker's hiring became official at Monday night's CHISD board meeting. Hooker, who comes over from Brownsboro, is replacing Thomas Sitton as head coach and athletic director.
