Sheriff: Cherokee Co. woman confesses to shooting, killing husband

CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A 76-year-old man is dead after a shooting at a home just outside of Rusk in Cherokee County on Wednesday afternoon just west of the intersection of Highway 84 and Farm to Market Road 347.

Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell says the wife confessed to shooting and killing her husband. The man's body was found in the living room of the residence. He had suffered a single gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to the sheriff's department for questioning.
