LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Prom season is upon us again here in East Texas. For most girls, this season is all about finding the right dress, shoes, jewelry and date for the occasion. Shopping for "the" right dress is fun, but it can get expensive fast!

Zonta Club of Longview is here to help. The group is gearing up for their sixth annual prom boutique this Saturday in Longview. Each year, Zonta gives away formal dresses to teen girls from across East Texas. What's the catch? There's not one.

This year, the group has over 2,000 dresses to give away. A majority of the dresses are brand new and were donated by local dress boutiques. In addition to a large selection of dresses, the boutique will also give away shoes, jewelry and handbags.

The event will be held Saturday, March 1 at Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview. The boutique will be open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Maude Cobb Convention Center is located at 100 Grand Boulevard.

Girls from across East Texas are welcome to attend. Last year, a teacher at Wills Point Independent School District, located 90 miles from Longview, drove a van full of high school girls to the boutique to pick out dresses.

To donate dresses, volunteer or learn more information contact the Zonta Club of Longview at 903-663-8726.
