CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Pavement work will continue to affect motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 71/75 this weekend.

Traffic is currently restricted to two lanes heading south at the Cut-in-the-hill in Kentucky, one of the busiest stretches of interstate in the Tri-State.

The entrance ramp from 12th Street in Covington to I-71/75 South will also be closed during the work.

Pavement work on Saturday had only one of the lanes open, backing up traffic through downtown Cincinnati.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says drivers should expect long delays. They are encouraging the use of alternate routes, suggesting Interstate 471.

All lanes of southbound I-71/75 at the Cut-in-the-Hill will reopen Monday at 5 a.m.
