Authorities say that a 28-year-old woman and her daughter were killed on Thursday afternoon after their vehicle collided head-on with a truck.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety say that Gwendolyn May of De Queen, Arkansas was traveling north on Highway 19 just north of Sulphur Springs, when she passed another car in a no-passing zone.
Troopers say that May's car collided with a truck driving south on Highway 19. That truck was driven by Richard Mitchell, 69, of Dike, TX.
May, and her four-year-old daughter Damaria died at the scene. Another child in the car, two-year-old Azaria May, was flown to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Her condition has not been released.
Mitchell was taken by ambulance to Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. His condition has not been released.
