TRAFFIC ALERT: N. Hwy 59 in Marshall blocked by police after gas leak
MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -
A gas leak has shutdown a Harrison County highway Wednesday morning.
Officials with the Marshall Police Department said traffic is backing up near the intersection of N. Highway 59 and Loop 390 in Marshall. Police say no accident has occurred in the area, but that work crews are on scene working to repair a gas leak.
A construction crew working near the intersection is believed to have ruptured a gas line.
Officers are blocking off traffic while Centerpoint Energy repairs the line. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
