Union Twp. man charged with murder: 'I choked her'
UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
In an emergency call released Tuesday, a Union Township man who is accused of killing his roommate during the weekend, admits to choking the woman to death.
At 10:48 a.m.., Phillip Hamm called the Union Township Police's non-emergency number. He told a dispatcher that he is going to need police at an apartment, providing the address.
Hamm, 21, said he and Meagan Fambry, 20, on Friday night/Saturday morning got into an argument.
"I honestly lost my mind and I went off and I choked her," he said. "And I killed her. And it probably happened a few hours ago and ... I don't know what happened to myself. I really don't."
Hamm said he didn't have any weapons.
Hamm said he and Fambry went to a friend's house in Covington. He said he and Fambry got into an argument at a party Friday night. They went home and started arguing there.
"I attacked her," he said. "I, like, choked her. I threw her down and was choking her. ... I would have called sooner but ... I honestly don't know what was going on in my mind. ... It's not who I am."
Union Township Police arrested Hamm on Saturday morning. He is charged with one count of murder and is being held at the Clermont County jail on a $500,000 bond.
Police were dispatched at approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday to the Southwind Apartment complex in the 3800 block of Old Savannah Drive in Union Township for a report of unknown trouble. Upon arrival, they found Fambry dead.
The call lasts approximately 10 minutes with a calm dispatcher asking Hamm questions.
