Austin Peay campus police issue alert after gunshots

Posted: Updated:
CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Austin Peay State University officials are warning students to be alert Monday night following a report of gunfire on campus.

School officials sent an email to students just after 10 p.m. indicating shots came from a dark Nissan Altima on Drane Street near the McReynolds building.

The vehicle then fled toward College Street.

Police have found two shell casings, but they say nobody was hurt.

They're advising students to avoid the area. Anyone who sees a vehicle matching the description is asked to call APSU police at 931-221-7786 or Clarksville police.
