HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Henderson County officials tell KLTV-7 that a stolen vehicle may be the latest development in the search for an escaped inmate out of Georgia.

Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday a call came in to authorities that a 1999 Silver Chevrolet Suburban had been stolen from a family home on County Road 4325 in Henderson county. The family told authorities that they heard something around 2 a.m. but didn't notice the vehicle was gone until they woke in the morning. This is located just over a mile from where officials believed Dasher was originally spotted.

Officials believe the vehicle was stolen by Chad Dasher, who authorities are still searching for after he escaped a Georgia prison. Authorities are asking for people in the community to be on the lookout for this '99 Silver Chevy Suburban with a Texas license plate 94XJS5. If you do see this vehicle, you are asked to call your local authorities.

Dasher escaped from the prison along side Raymond Smith. Smith was caught by authorities in Corsicana and is currently in the Navarro County jail on charges of escape and interference with government property. He is being held without bond and officials are working with Georgia authorities to extradite him back to Georgia.

Again authorities are asking people in the community to be on the lookout for this '99 Silver Chevy Suburban with a Texas license plate 94XJS5. If you do see this vehicle, you are asked to call your local authorities.
