SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The son of the 2005 Smith County courthouse shooter is now under indictment.

David Arroyo, Jr., is charged with assault with a deadly weapon for an incident that occurred back in December. Arroyo went to a home to see his daughter. He got into an argument with his daughter's mother at the home and pulled a gun on her. He fled the area and police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Multiple witnesses were at the home when the alleged assault occurred.

Arroyo was shot and wounded when his father, David Arroyo, Sr., opened fire outside the Smith County Courthouse in February of 2005. Two people, including Arroyo, Sr.'s estranged wife, were killed.

David Arroyo, Jr., remains in the Smith County jail. His bond has been set at $750,000.
