FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) -

A 17-year-old Carlisle boy admitted to Franklin Police Wednesday morning to being the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian Tuesday night in front of Franklin High School, Franklin Police said.

At 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, a 72-year-old man was crossing Fourth Street in Franklin near the school when a westbound vehicle struck him and left the scene.

Gerald Retherford -- the pedestrian who was struck -- was transported to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.

The boy came to the Franklin Police Department with his parents around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the case remains under investigation and charges might be pending through Warren County Juvenile Court.
