Police investigating serious injury crash in South Fairmount

SOUTH FAIRMONT, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating a serious injury crash in South Fairmount.

It happened at 1881 Westwood Avenue on Tuesday, February 11.

28-year-old Cristina Jackson was operating a Land Rover south on Quebec Avenue when she disregarded the traffic control device, entered the intersection of Westwood Avenue and struck a Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on Westwood Avenue.

The Chevrolet Malibu was forced off the roadway where the vehicle struck a building.

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, 25-year-old Alexander Sanin and the passenger, 32-year-old Jurij Sanin, were extricated from the vehicle and transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Sanin was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and is still listed in stable condition. Jackson was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.

Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this crash. The Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate.

Any witnesses are asked to call Cincinnati Police at 513-352-2514.
