Dan Wells reports: Improvements at Eastgate Mall

EASTGATE, OH (FOX19) -

Eastgate Marketplace is a new 15 million dollar retail development that is replacing the former Golf Galaxy and Garden Ridge stores along Eastgate North Drive in Union Township.

FOX19's Dan Wells is live at Eastgate Mall this morning with a closer look at the progress.

Developers out of Columbus are building a 41,000-square-foot LA Fitness and many other shops in the area.

Demolition of the current buildings and construction are scheduled to continue this year, with store/the gym openings as early as the end of the year into 2015.

New traffic patterns as a result of the interchange work being done at Interstate 275 and State Route 32 led developers to decide to redevelop the property.

Officials with the Clermont County Transportation Improvement District say a $10 million road revamp project is also underway including:

• Reconstructing and widening the Eastgate Boulevard bridge over state Route 32.

• Relocating the existing westbound state Route 32 entrance and exit ramps from Eastgate Boulevard to Eastgate North Drive.

• Reconstructing the westbound loop ramp from Eastgate Boulevard to state Route 32.
