The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Nolan Ryan is returning to the Houston Astros. The former Texas Rangers CEO will join the Astros as a special assistant to Astros owner Jim Crane. Ryan resigned from his position with Rangers last October. His new role will be much less demanding.
The Hall of Famer will get the chance to work with his son Reid Ryan, who serves as the Astros' president of business operations.
Ryan pitched 9 seasons for the Astros.
