TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

On Friday, February 7, at 10:15 a.m., Smith County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a burglary at Tennison Cattle Company. It was determined that someone had broken into the business, as well as into a vehicle. The owner told deputies that he had locked the door the previous night when he left the building, but when he returned Friday morning, the door was standing open. Several items were taken from the property, and two possible suspect names were given to authorities.

The deputy at the scene attempted to contact the reported suspects. When he arrived at the home of the reported suspects, he noticed the items that had been reported stolen were in the bed of a truck that was reported as belonging to Jacob McDougal, a 22-year-old from Tyler.

The deputy spoke with both suspects, and he arrested McDougal for burglary of a building. All the stolen items were recovered.

The other suspect was not charged.

Bond was set at $2,000 by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Judge Quincy Beavers.

Smith County detectives say McDougal is suspected in other area thefts and burglaries. They are continuing to investigate.
