LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Longview police are continuing their investigation into a report of a child abduction that is said to have occurred on Friday afternoon around Mobberly Avenue and Oakdale Street in Longview.

Saturday morning Longview Police say that a child is the one who gave the report, which was a white van pulled up to an unknown Hispanic or Asian girl, 9 or 10 years old, around 4 p.m. A suspect wearing black reportedly grabbed the girl, placed his hand over the child's mouth and dragged her into the van, which sped away. The girl was said to be wearing a blue polo and khaki pants.

Longview Police Officer Kristie Brian says they have had no reports of any missing children at this time, but are investigating. Police are asking all parents to check on their children and contact police immediately if they are unable to locate their child.

Longview police can be reached at (903) 236-1199.
