Tyler Police are looking for two subjects involved in an aggravated assault near Martin Luther King Boulevard, late Thursday night.
Just before 10:50 p.m., officers responded to the assault that occurred near the intersection of Tyler Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. According to the victim, when he arrived home he noticed a green colored pick-up truck parked suspiciously along the roadway, with a man in the drivers seat.
The victim drove around the block and when he pulled up to the house again, he didn't see anyone in the vehicle. The victim then pulled into his driveway and watched the vehicle for several minutes before the man in the driver's seat sat up and drove away. The victim followed the vehicle and confronted the driver near the intersection of Tyler Street and M.L. King Boulevard. Following a brief argument, the victim says a passenger in the vehicle got out and displayed a handgun, firing a single shot that struck the victim's vehicle.
The victim fled the scene and called police. The victim was not injured during the incident. He described the driver of the suspect vehicle as a black male, 6 feel tall, weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored hoodie. The vehicle is described as a late 1990s regular cab pick-up truck, possibly a Ford. However, the victim could not provide a description of the passenger.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Tyler Police Department at (903) 531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at (903) 597-CUFF.
