KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

Kilgore police are still searching for two masked suspects involved in an armed robbery that happened at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police say they responded to a reported robbery at Xino Converters located at 300 Harris Street in Kilgore. Upon arrival, an employee at the recycling business told officers that one masked man pointed a handgun at him, while another tied him up.

The two suspects then fled the scene by stealing the employee's Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck. The truck was found abandoned in a parking lot on Thursday evening, about two blocks away from where it was stolen.

In a "Be On the Look Out" alert broadcast shortly after the robbery occurred, it was reported that the two men stole two AR-15s that were in the truck. Kilgore police would not confirm this information with KLTV. It is unknown if the rifles have been recovered yet.

The store employee was uninjured.

Officers say a security camera outside of Xino Converters might reveal more about what happened.

We spoke with a woman in the area who interpreted for her mother, who witnessed what was going on.

"There was a truck in that little area and she saw the cops get here, very scary," she says.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Detective Tim Dukes with the Kilgore Police Department at 903-983-1559. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 903-236-STOP.
