TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Multiple agencies responded to a house fire Monday morning in Titus County.
The Titus County Sheriff's Office confirmed that one person was killed in a structure fire on County Road 4230 near the intersection of Highway 49, three miles southeast of Mt. Pleasant.
The victim has been identified as Donna Riddle, 60, of Titus County.
"She was a good woman. She loved her grandkids; well, she loved her whole family," Harold Riddle, the victim's husband, said.
The fire was reported at 7:45 a.m. by a Titus County constable who saw flames as he drove by the house. It is unknown at this time if anyone was home when the fire started.
"I was at work. I had to be at work at 4 and then my landlord called me and said the trailer was on fire," Riddle said. "We're going to miss her. I already miss her and she hasn't even been gone that long."
The state fire marshal was expected to arrive on scene by midday on Monday. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
"I wish she was still here, I really do. A lot of people are going to miss her," he said.
Riddle has three grown children and 10 grandchildren. Her husband was at work when the fire broke out. He said she was awake when he left.
