LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Investigators say super bowl weekend peak pizza deliveries might be why a delivery man was targeted Friday night in Longview.
A Domino's employee was on his way to deliver a pizza near old Elderville road and Morrison street in Longview when he was robbed. A delivery on a dark road just after Midnight spelled trouble for the Dominos delivery driver.
"Delivery drivers should be aware of their surroundings at all times especially where they make deliveries late into the night. He went to deliver pizza , was assaulted by several black males," says Longview police officer Kristie Brian.
When the driver got out on Morrison street to make a delivery, he told police that he was attacked by 4 individuals, who left him with minor injuries but took all his cash. The suspects fled on foot , but police quickly ran them down within 30 minutes of the robbery.
"The victim was able to identify all the suspects and a search of the area , we were able to locate them all." Brian says.
23-year-old Robert Thomas and 18 year old Adrian Stanford were both charged with robbery and are being held without bail. Both have listed addresses near the scene of the robbery. We were able to locate all four suspects, two adults and two juveniles. Police say the delivery driver was shaken, but not seriously injured. Officers say the two teenagers arrested in this case will remain in the Gregg county juvenile detention center.
