Police where able to connect the two men to multiple robberies after they received several tips.

The first occurred on Jan. 8 at the EZ Stop on West Goliad. According to an earlier press release, the robbery occurred at about 9:18 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that two suspects brandished handguns when they demanded money from the female cashier.

The suspects' faces were covered, except for the immediate areas around their eyes, the press release stated. During the robbery, they stole about $400 from the store's cash register. After they left the store, they fled the area on foot and headed toward Durette Drive and Sallas Street

The press release stated that the two men threatened to kill the cashier before they fled.

The second incident occurred at the Hill Top corner store on North Fourth Street. According to Sgt. Clayton smith, the suspect used a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk.

"The suspect was described as a tall black male, with soft brown skin complexion wearing a brown hoodie with orange writing on the back," Smith said. "The writing on the back could possibly be a Horse Riding Club logo. [The suspect was also wearing] tan colored pants with a bright pink bandanna wrapped across his mouth.

Other agencies including the Houston County Sheriff's Office, DPS, Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Warden, Houston County Precinct 1 Constable and the Crockett Housing Authority all assisted with the initial search.

Crockett Police Department requested assistance from Houston County Sheriff's Office tracking K-9 in an attempt to track the suspect in a wooded area behind the store.

Bond for the two has not been set at this time.

"We are glad to get these two off the streets of our city," Chief David Cross said. "I am also proud of the different work that our officers and detectives put forth into solving these cases. I would also like to thank the citizens for the information that they provided which greatly assisted our department in the investigation."
