Police release identity of woman struck and killed by pickup truck Thursday morning

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police responded to the 1400 block of E. Gentry Parkway at 6:58 a.m. on Thursday are a Hispanic female who was crossing the roadway was struck by a pick-up truck.

The woman, identified as Minerba Esmeralda Moreno-Barron, 35, of Tyler, died from injuries she suffered from the accident after being transported to a local hospital.

Moreno-Barron was crossing E. Gentry heading and was struck in the inside lane of southbound traffic. Police say she was not using the crosswalk that was provided for pedestrian traffic approximately 90 feet from where she was struck.

The driver who struck Moreno-Barron was identified as Esteban Segura Cruz, H/M, age 42, of Tyler. He was driving a Ford F-250 Pick-up. Cruz was not found to be at fault in the accident.
