Crowley's Ridge College will face a Division 1 opponent Wednesday

PARAGOULD, AR (CRC.edu) - For the second time this season the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers Basketball team will be facing an NCAA Division One opponent. The Pioneers will travel to face Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Wednesday night for a 7:00 tip off time. This will be the first meeting between the Pioneers and the Cougars.

CRC lost in first meeting this season with a D1 opponent, when they fell to Houston Baptist University of the Southland Conference 75-61 back on November 11.

SIUE is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and they are currently 7-14 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The Cougars defeated University of Tennessee Martin on Saturday 87-82. That win moved them into second place of the Western Division of the OVC.  SIUE lost their season opener to Arkansas 99-65.

CRC goes into the game at 9-9 on the season. The Pioneers three game winning streak was snapped in a road loss Monday night to Champion Baptist College.  Kris Conner of Champion Baptist made a basket with 1.1 seconds to play to lift the Tigers over the Pioneers 86-84.

SIUE is led by Donivine Stewart, a 6'0 sophomore guard from Peoria, Ill, who is averaging 11.7 points per game this season.

CRC has three players averaging in double figures on the season, led by Skylor Guess with 15.2 points per game.

The game will be available on the Ohio Valley Conference digital network, at ovcsports.com.
