Good afternoon! We hope you are having a fabulous day and that you're ready for another weather change...here we go:

1. Cold Arctic air is moving into East Texas and some snowfall is likely over the southern portions of East Texas, as well. Temperatures will be falling through the day from the 40s into the 30s. Winds will be blowing 20-30mph from the north, gusting to near 40mph at times this afternoon, therefore, A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for most of ETX through 6 p.m. Please make sure to join Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto for continuous updates on East Texas News at 4, 5 and 6.

2. Six young adults were arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to minors after East Texas authorities broke up a large party.
On Saturday, January 18 around 3 a.m., the Harrison County Sheriff's Office received information that a large gathering with loud music was taking place at a residence on Rupe Hoffman Road just five miles northeast of Longview. 43 partygoers were detained.

3. Palestine police have arrested two people who they say are involved in counterfeiting money in East Texas, as well as possession of fraudulently obtained credit cards and possession of meth. The two arrested are Robbie Dudley, 33, and Jennifer Bailey, 30.

4. Another person has died in East Texas from the flu, according to new numbers released Monday by East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. That makes two deaths from flu this season at ETMC, and one from Mother Frances Hospital. Gregg Co. officials say at least five flu deaths were recorded in their county so far.

5. Two men have been arrested after an East Texas school bus was destroyed in a fire Sunday night.  Sulphur Springs Fire Investigator David James says crews responded to several brush fires and trash fires just before 10 p.m. Around the same time, units were dispatched to a fire at the Sulphur Springs Independent School District bus barn off of North Locust Street.

6. Nacogdoches police are confirming two people are dead in an apparent double homicide in Eastwood Terrace Apartments Monday morning. Nacogdoches PD says officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting at approximately 4:04 a.m. When they arrived at the apartment complex in the 3000 block of Santa Fe, they found two men lying on the ground outside of an apartment building. Both men had suffered gunshot wounds.

7. The Texas Department of State Health Services has issued a fish consumption advisory for portions of the Neches River Basin, including Sam Rayburn Reservoir and B.A. Steinhagen Reservoir. Included in the DO NOT EAT advisory are blue catfish, flathead catfish, gar, largemouth bass, smallmouth buffalo, and spotted bass. Some of these have restrictions based on the size of the fish.
