6 adults arrested, 37 minors ticketed after deputies break up house party

HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Six adults were arrested  after East Texas authorities broke up a large house party in Harrison County.

On Saturday, January 18 around 3 a.m., the Harrison County Sheriff's Office received information that a large gathering with loud music was taking place at a residence on Rupe Hoffman Road just five miles northeast of Longview. Upon arrival, deputies found approximately 30 vehicles parked in the roadway and in the yard area of the home. Authorities soon located the individual who leases the property and detained 43 partygoers.

After interviewing the detained individuals, it was determined that 37 of the 43 people in attendance were underage. All 37 of those underaged partygoers were issued citations for minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage. Twelve of the 37 were also issued citations for minor in consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

Four adults at the party were arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to minors. The adults charged include:
  • Roberto Castro of Gladewater
  • Cody Shane Mahaffey of Gladewater
  • Dylan Hudson of Longview
  • Brandon Pickett of Longview

Two adults were arrested and charged with public intoxication:

  • Alec Beville of Longview
  • Zachary Phillips of Longview

All six were taken to the Harrison County Jail. They were later released on bond.

Beville has previously been arrested four times in Gregg County for possession of marijuana. Mahaffey has also previously been arrested in Gregg County for possession of marijuana. Hudson was arrested in January 2013 for theft.
