MRA and NWR fill their coaching vacancies

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two high profile head coaching jobs in the metro area have been filled on the same day.

Northwest Rankin has hired Tyler Peterson to lead the Cougars program. Peterson won a state title in 2011 at Noxapter and most recently rebuilt Kosciusko over the past two seasons.

Peterson replaces Pete Hurt, who was fired after 3 years as the head man.

Over at MRA the Patriots have hired Herbert Davis to replace Forrest Williams a week after he stepped down. Davis leaves Lawrence County after being the head coach there for a year. He's been a head coach in the state for 17 seasons and is the only man to lead 4 different teams to a championship game.
