Winter making a comeback in East Texas...snow?

(KLTV) -

Winter appears to be making a comeback in East Texas, with today's chill and another strong cold front expected late tomorrow. Winter is making a comeback; a strong comeback.

A very strong Arctic cold front is expected to arrive Wednesday evening, bringing with it much more cold air. Winds will be very blustery on Thursday as the cold, dry air moves in. Winds should be out of the northeast at 15-25 mph. Wind chills will be in the 20s and lower 30s on Thursday, even during the day.

As moisture from the Pacific rides in from the west, over the cold air that will be in place on Thursday night and Friday morning, there will be a chance for some sleet and snow to occur then. Amounts are expected to be quite small, but nonetheless, there will be a chance for wintry precipitation Thursday night and Friday morning.

Slightly higher amounts are expected over the southern sections of East Texas. Several forecast models show most of the wintry precipitation to stay to our west and south, but a few of them continue to show 'some' wintry mix possible late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
