Man killed in crash with 18-wheeler identified

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The identity of a man who died in a Sunday evening crash in Tyler has been released.

According to the Tyler Police Department, 45-year-old Alfonso Herrera-Vazquez of Brownsboro was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle wreck at Highway 64 and Loop 323.

Around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pick-up and a semi-truck. Herrera-Vazquez was driving a gray Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle collided with a semi-truck. The semi was stopped in the southbound turning lane at the red-light facing west. Herrera-Vazquez was traveling west in the inside lane of the roadway when his pick-up struck the back of the semi's trailer.
