73-year-old man identified as victim of Upshur Co. wreck

UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The identity of a man killed in a two-vehicle crash in Upshur County Saturday has been released.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 73-year-old Charles Kenneth Gibbs of Overton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 7:15 p.m. by Upshur County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Lyle Potter.

Gibbs was traveling southwest on Highway 155 about ten miles northeast of Gilmer in a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner when the accident occurred. A 2000 Infinity QX4, driven by 26-year-old Noe Paz-Aquillon of Daingerfield, was traveling northeast on Highway 155 when it drifted into the oncoming lane, striking Gibbs' SUV.

Paz-Aquillon was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview where he is currently listed in serious condition. Both men were wearing their seatbelts.
