Neighbors report hearing two explosions before home burns

CASS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Cass County fire crews responded to what's being described as an explosion tonight in Marietta, TX.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office confirms that the fire started at a home in the 200 block of Front Street just before 7 p.m. on Thursday. Neighbors reported hearing two loud explosions at the single-story residence.

The investigation has been turned over to the state fire marshal, who will have to sift through the ashes to see what caused the explosion and subsequent fire.

There was no gas or propane in the home.

The sheriff's office says the owner of the home was at Walmart at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The home was not insured.
