Tyler carjacking suspect arrested following traffic stop

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - On Tuesday, Longview police arrested a man accused of stealing a car at gunpoint from The Reserves apartment complex in the 2800 block of County Road 272.

Donterius Montrey Jackson, 20, was arrested after he was stopped for speeding the the stolen car, a 1995 Buick Roadmaster. Officers confirmed the car was stolen from Tyler and the Longview native was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. A small revolver matching the one used in the robbery was also found in Jackson's possession. he was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm, failure to identify as a fugitive and a warrant for no driver's license.

Police say on December 17, they responded to a call at The Reserves where they learned that a 19-year-old man was robbed of his car, the Roadmaster, by at least two men driving a white Chevrolet Impala. The victim said the Impala followed him into the complex and the driver approached his vehicle, displayed a gun and demanded he exit the car. The man then drove away in the Roadmaster.

On Thursday, Jackson was also charged for the aggravated robbery at The Reserves. He is currently in jail in the Gregg County Jail.
