Volunteers build new playhouses for Boys & Girls Club

LOVELAND, OH (FOX 19) -

The Boys & Girls Club of Cincinnati received more than a dozen newly built playhouses on Wednesday thanks to a team of area volunteers.

Local Axcess Financial employees went head-to-head building playhouses from the ground up within a two-hour timeframe. "The Playhouse Challenge" was part of a team building exercise during the company's annual conference in Loveland.

The playhouses were later revealed to a group of unsuspecting Taft Elementary School students. Organizers said approximately 15 playhouses will go to local schools and community centers connected to the Boys & Girls Club.

Also on Wednesday, the Deaconess Foundation presented a $25,000 grant to support the Boys & Girls Club's Fit for Life program, which promotes nutritional education and active lifestyles for area children.
