TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Jonathan Daniel Burkett, 23, of Tyler and 20-year-old Jeremy Aaron Junkins were arrested early Tuesday morning after police responded to a burglary in Tyler.

According to the Tyler Police Department, officers responded to a residence at 9402 Tipperary Drive around 3:10 a.m. on report that an auto burglary had occurred. Upon arrival, police learned from a resident at the home that the victim had a car parked in the driveway that was burglarized.

A garage door opener was taken from the parked car and used to open the garage, where another vehicle was located. Police say Burkett and Junkins burglarized that vehicle before fleeing the residence.

Officers stopped a black Chevrolet Tahoe leaving the area where the burglary occurred. Burkett and Junkins were located inside the Tahoe, along with property taken from the victim's vehicle. Property stolen from other victims was located in the SUV as well.

Burkett and Junkins were each arrested on one charge of burglary of a habitation and two charges of auto burglary. Bond for both men has been set at $55,000.

Burkett has been arrested three previous times in Smith County for burglary of a building. He also has one prior charge of burglary of a habitation.
