Academy Sports & Outdoors was the place to be with Mitch Moreland and Michael Choice on hand to sign autographs at the Texas Rangers Winter Caravan. Come opening day, it will be the fans getting to know a brand new roster.
"Its definitely different you know, we have had a lot of new faces come in and a lot of things change so you know I think its going to be for the good," said Moreland. "I think our front office went out and make every move to get us better."
The new pieces however, especially Prince Fielder, a first baseman, means change for Moreland.
"Definitely a new role," said Moreland. "Maybe some outfield, some DH, first base. I'm just trying to get an open mind and trying to stick with my business and work and go about it the right way."
Choice another offseason acquisition is now back in Arlington where he went to high school and college. Coming over from Oakland, the outfielder is excited to be back home.
"As soon as I got traded over, I was excited to get things going with that new fresh start," said Choice. "Its awesome to be able to drive down the street and say that's where im playing. Very few people get a chance to do that."
Ranger fans are hoping they are meeting future All-Stars. Moreland appreciates fans in East Texas.
"To see the support you get and the fan base all over the state, you know you got that support everywhere you go."
