RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

On Monday, authorities released the identity of a 79-year-old man who was found dead in his Rusk County home over the weekend.

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office says that the body of  Donald Lee Clark was discovered in his home in the 11000 block of Farm to Market Road 2012 in Overton by a family member around 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Clark suffered from a gunshot wound.

Rusk County Sheriff Jeff Price says Clark's death is being investigated as a homicide. An autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Bonnie Miller on Saturday.

"Was this an isolated incident or was this a burglary gonebad? We don't know at this point," Price said during a press conference Monday. "We're still way too early in theinvestigation to be able to answer those questions."

On Sunday, the Rusk County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol, the Henderson Rescue Unit and the Tatum Mounted Patrol joined the Texas Rangers and the Rusk County Sheriff's Department in searching for evidence related to the murder. Shortly after 3 p.m. officials discovered credit cards in the area, but have not yet said if they are related to the murder investigation. The search ended around 4 p.m.

Price says an undetermined amount of cash is missing from Clark's house.

"There were some items that we knew were missing from the residenceand we just widened out the search area to look to see if the subjects haddiscarded them," Price said. "Personal items were found during the search, but the description isbeing withheld at this time."

Investigators ask anyone with information relating to the case to contact the sheriff's criminal investigation division at (903) 657-3581 or the Rusk County Crime Stoppers at (903) 655-8477.
