2-year-old crashes dad's car into East Texas dollar store

HUGHES SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) -

A car crashed into the front of an East Texas dollar store Friday morning; however, the driver was not in the car at the time.

According to Hughes Springs Police Chief Randy Kennedy, a young man got out of his 2005 Chevrolet Impala to go into the store. The man's two year old child was still in the car, and knocked the car into gear. The vehicle began rolling and drove into the front doors of the store.

The store has closed temporarily for repairs. There were no injuries reported.

The owner of the car was cited for having no valid Texas driver license and no insurance.
