7 from 7: Stories for your Wednesday

Hello, and happy Wednesday to all of you!

Here are some stories for you to peruse this afternoon while you stay warm inside:

1. It had been a mystery, but authorities released this information today: An autopsy report on Alfred Wright issued Wednesday afternoon listed the  28-year-old Jasper man's cause of death, noting it was accidental, was caused by drug intoxication.

2. Have you had your flu shot this season? Many people say they'll never avoid the shot again after battling flu. Then there are those who believe the flu vaccine will make them sick, or even that the government might be slipping things into the vaccine we don't know about. We're going to cover all those bases tonight on East Texas News at 5, 6 and 10. We'll help you make sense of all the confusing information that's out there!

3. You've been hearing for a couple of days now that the Kraft company is saying they're running low on Velveeta. You may be worrying about what in the world to feed your crowd during the big game if you can't find that orange-colored block of cheesy, melty goodness.

We have a solution.

4. Unfortunately, we have some animal cruelty issues to report this week. Today we found that two Wood County men, both in their twenties, had arrest warrants issued against them for animal cruelty. One man, Johnny Joe Munoz, was arrested,  but the other, Jared Michael Williams, is still at large. Also, we told you yesterday that a dog had died in Longview after being chained outside during the freezing weather with no access to food, shelter, or water.

5. In response to the Longview dog's case, PETA contacted us with these tips for protecting animals, even wildlife in your yard, during cold weather. Click here to see those tips.

6. Johnny Manziel submitted declaration papers to the NFL for the 2014 NFL draft. Manziel says, "I will try to make you as proud of me in the NFL as I did at Texas A&M."

7. And on Tuesday, an 82-year-old Wood Co. man was arrested and charged with deadly conduct after he fired a gun at another individual's vehicle - a class three felony. Wood County Sheriff deputies booked him into jail last night, and he was released on $10,000 bond today. The investigation is ongoing.
