7 from 7: Stories for your Tuesday

Hello, everyone! We hope your Tuesday is rolling along well today and that you're keeping warm.

Here are a few stories that we think you'll want to check out this afternoon:

1. An East Texas school resource officer by the name of William Nathan Gaddis has been arrested on two counts of indecency with a child. What we know so far is located here.

2. A Shreveport grandmother who fatally shot a teen intruder said, "I prayed to God to give me strength." Police have identified the alleged robber who was killed by the elderly homeowner Sunday night. His name is Devon Antonio Young - a sixteen year-old who lived in Shreveport. More details here.

3. Speaking of Shreveport, Horseshoe Casino has announced plans for a $3.5M "Vegas style" pool to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Officials say the pool will be large enough to accommodate 1,000 people, with cabanas and palm trees. DJs and bands will play on an outdoor stage. According to Rich, "Research shows casino guests are looking for more than just slot machines and table games."

4. Police plan to file class A misdemeanor animal cruelty charges against an owner after a dog froze to death Tuesday morning. Longview animal control officers found a dog chained in the yard that appeared to have frozen to death. The dog's owner had not provided any type of shelter, water or food for the animal.

The dog was so frozen that a veterinarian was not able to get a temperature reading on the deceased animal. What police had to say here.

5. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of a devastating fire at Moose Auto Glass on Monday evening. We'll have an update for you tonight on East Texas News at 5 and 6.

6. Have you ever been to the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup? If you're one of the brave souls who have been, you may be interested to know that some state officials are trying to put a stop to how the rattlesnakes are treated, as they are "gassed" to drive them up from underground. Read about the controversy here.

7. You might be interested to know that the VW Passat that was stolen while in a driveway warming up yesterday in Longview has been recovered! Here's the latest on that.
