Suspect sought in Glendale Dollar Store burglary

GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police are asking the public to help find a man they said burglarized a Family Dollar Store on Christmas morning.

A police spokesman said the man used a stolen key to access an adjacent riser room. He climbed to the roof and into an air duct and lowered himself into the closed store at 6744 W. Glendale Ave. about 11:30 a.m.

The man filled trash bags with items worth more than $2,000 before leaving through the back door, activating an alarm, the spokesman said.

The man is described as black, in his 30s, medium build and was wearing a blue- and white-striped, collared shirt, dark jeans and a gray cloth over his face.

    An East Texas boy scout has achieved his goal of raising enough money to purchase 31 bullet proof vests in 31 days. 13 year old Jaxon Holland was raising the funds for his Eagle Scout project and surpassed his goal. Holland raised $18,000 which will cover 34 vests plus accessories. The vests will be donated to the Wood County Sheriff’s office.
