LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Authorities are urging citizens to be on the lookout for a vehicle taken from a Longview residence Monday morning.
According to the Longview Police Department, police responded to the report of a stolen vehicle in the 1100 block of Hollybrook Drive at 7:14 a.m. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that she left the car running in her driveway to let it warm up while she was in her home preparing for the day.
“I’m having trouble right now with my garage door so that’s why it was sitting out there instead of in the garage. And it’s not really even about the car as much as it is that somebody has come in my yard near my kids, and I take their safety very seriously,” said Debbie Satcher.
The stolen vehicle is described as a white 2012 Volkswagen Passat with Texas license plate number DX9K793. The sedan has an "L" sticker and a Texas A&M sticker on the trunk near the left side of the license plate. The car also has tinted windows.
Later police found her school IDs and keys in a routine traffic stop and returned them to Debbie. The man who had her things said he found them in a parking lot.
Anyone who sees this car is urged to call police immediately. Do not attempt to approach the driver.
Police warn citizens to not leave vehicles unattended while they are running.
