The family of a fallen East Texas soldier has a new way to remember their loved one.
A three mile stretch of FM 2348 is now dedicated to Sergeant Chauncy Mays, a husband and father, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011. Mays was from Chapel Hill. Titus County leaders, family, friends, and strangers showed up today to witness the unveiling of The Army Staff Sergeant Chauncy Mays Memorial Highway in Mt. Pleasant. Chauncy leaves behind his wife Katherine and two young daughters.
