Driver killed in Anderson Co. crash identified as 41-year-old Palestine woman

FRANKSTON, TX (KLTV) - The Anderson County Sheriff's Office and other emergency agencies responded to the scene of a fatal accident involving an 18-wheeler and an SUV.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning on Highway 175 near Howell Road in Frankston. Angela Faye Scott, 41, of Palestine was traveling eastbound on the roadway in a 2002 Toyota Sequoia when her SUV entered the westbound lane. Scott's SUV was struck by an 18-wheeler, driven by Gregory Dinger of Hammond, Louisiana, traveling in the westbound lane of the roadway.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene by Anderson County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace James Todd. Dinger was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Athens with non-life threatening injuries.

One lane of Highway 175 remains closed as crews work to clear the scene. Traffic is expected to be slow moving for around the next two hours.
