East Texas authorities continue to search for a man who has eluded police twice Thursday.

According to the Longview Police Department, officers began pursuing 43-year-old Robby Bryan Stevens just after 5 a.m. Thursday morning. He is wanted in connection with a robbery at a Longview business.

Stevens is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Gregg County Sheriff's Department, Upshur County Sheriff's Department, East Mountain Police Department and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter worked together to search for Stevens, but were not able to locate him.

Police first searched in the Judson Road area, beginning around 5 a.m., moving later in the morning to an area off Gilmer Road. The manhunt ended just after 1:15 p.m. Thursday. At 2:30 p.m., Longview PD announced that although the manhunt has been called off, officers are still looking for Stevens.

East Mountain is located near the Upshur/Gregg County line just northwest of Longview.

Police ask the public to call them immediately if they believe they have seen Stevens or if they know where he may be.
