Officers with the Onalaska Police Department
arrested a 42-year-old man for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he
allegedly used a .22-caliber rifle to shoot his house mate in the chest on Dec.
Stuart Shane Sellers, of Onalaska, is still being
held in the Polk County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated
assault with a deadly weapon. His bail has been set at $100,000.
According to the arrest affidavit East Texas News
obtained Tuesday morning, a sergeant with the Onalaska PD was dispatched to 275
Onalaska East in reference to a gunshot victim. When he arrived on the scene,
he found the victim, Tyler Castle, unconscious in the home's hallway. Castle
had a gunshot wound to the chest.
A witness told the police officer that Sellers had
shot Tyler and left the scene. After the Onalaska PD officer called EMS, he
told everyone in the house to get outside and have their identification ready.

When the officer asked the man, who was later
identified as Sellers, if he had been inside the residence when the shooting
occurred, Sellers allegedly said, "Yeah. I'm the one who shot him."
The witness confirmed that Sellers was the person
who shot Castle. She also said that Castle lived at the residence with her and
is her baby's father and that Sellers lived at the residence as well.
According to the affidavit, Sellers allegedly
admitted to shooting Castle with a .22-caliber Winchester rifle during a taped
interview at the Onalaska Police Department.
"Mr. Sellers had the odor of an alcoholic beverage
coming from his breath and person during the interview," the affidavit stated. "He
stated that he had consumed alcoholic beverages and consented to give a blood
