In January, we lost my only brother, James L Walters of Cleveland, TX. He was the Sheriff of San Jacinto County, but more than that he was a funny man. He could make you laugh just by rolling his eyes. He loved practical jokes and didn't mind being taking the brunt of a joke.
He was only 66 when cancer took him from us. He was a pastor at one point in his life, serving in Avinger, Mt. Enterprise, and El Paso TX. He later worked for the Harris County Sheriff's department before being elected for two terms as the sheriff of San Jacinto County, but sadly dying shortly after the beginning of his second term.
He left behind his wife Katie Walters, sons Gary Walters and Royce Walters and several grandchildren. He was a family man and when he passed, he left a big hole in all our hearts. He was born to Lonnie Walters (who passed away 8 months later) and Peggy Walters of Shepherd TX. Sisters- Kay Walters Lyles, Janice Walters Marsh and Sonya Walters Jenkins.
