Linda Jones Linda Jones

Linda Hardin Jones, 65, stepped into Heaven on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. On that historic day Christ uttered, "It is finished," Linda was beginning her new life in His presence after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Wife for 44 years of Gary L.Jones of Longview; daughter of Jo Lane Hardin and the late Odis E.Hardin, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, TX; sister of Ronnie Hardin, also of Mt. Pleasant; mother of Kara Abbruzzese of Dallas, TX; mother-in-law to Alan Abbruzzese; grandmother of Zoe Abbruzzese. Linda worked for 37 years in the public school system, as a teacher of first and third grades; but was a librarian for most of her career.

For the last 25 years she worked in Longview ISD at Ware Elementary. She was very active in her church, Mobberly Baptist, working in the library, the nursery and the prayer ministry. Some of the things she enjoyed most were reading in her sunroom, daisies, putting together puzzles, tickling her granddaughter, shopping with her daughter, arguing with her husband over his garage sale habits, her annual beach vacation with her "toes in the sand" friend Mary Curry and rainy days in her sunroom.

Linda was a lover of technology, but not a lover of all the electronic gadgets her husband brought into the house.
