Benny Ray was my stepdad. He was such a fun and loving man. He adored my momma and all of us kids and his kindness made a huge impact on us. He was a dedicated fisherman and died doing what he loved. He drowned at Lake Bob Sandlin in Titus County on May 4th and our family has been trying to mend ever since.
We want all people to do more than what law requires of having life vest onboard but to wear them - your life or loved ones' lives may depend on it. Benny had them onboard, but witnesses say wind blew them away from his reach.
Our hearts are on the mend still each day that passes we are drawn to thoughts and memories of Pops. We have hope in the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ, John 6:39-40, so we move forward the best we can.
