Reward raised to $3,000 in Wood Co. crude oil theft case

Last week Mineola police announced an investigation into the theft of over 300 barrels of raw crude oil that occurred over the last seven weeks. At that time, the reward for information leading to the arrest of the guilty person(s) was $1,000.

Now, Mineola police say that reward has been raised to $3,000. The three thefts, police say, resulted in the loss of the equivalent of over 300 barrels of oil from three locations in the FM 2966/FM 69 area in Wood County.

These thefts occurred on November 7-8, December 14-15 and December 22-23, police say.
