Here are some stories we think you'll want to check out today:

1. There is a new virus in the U.S., and doctors and researchers say it is the "Ferrari of viruses." Find out why they're calling it that and read how to prevent the spread of this highly contagious illness here, as well.

2. The Federal Aviation Administration announced six states on Monday that will develop test sites for drones, a critical next step for the march of the unmanned aircraft into U.S. skies.Alaska, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Texas and Virginia will host the research sites, providing diverse climates, geography and air traffic environments, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta said.

3. A Louisiana woman, along with her 8-year-old son, were loading the car full of groceries at Walmart on Friday, when her evening took an unexpected turn. "I put the eggs and the bread in the front seat and leaned back over to get my purse and saw a man grab the purse out of the buggy and run away," Cagle explained, adding that the man seemed to come out of nowhere. Thanks to a Good Samaritan, she got it back and the culprit was arrested. Read the story and see video here.

4. Doctors have offered a grim assessment of Michael Schumacher's head injuries Monday, providing no prognosis for the Formula One driving great after his skiing accident in the French Alps. Schumacher has been placed in a medically induced coma to relieve pressure on his brain, which suffered bruising and bleeding when the retired seven-time world champion fell and struck a rock Sunday while skiing during a family vacation.

5. A Longview man was arrested at an East Texas hospital Friday. According to the Longview Police Department, 44-year-old Darrell Dewayne Colbert was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Colbert was taken into custody at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

6.  The government's rehabilitated health insurance website has seen a December surge in customer sign-ups, pushing enrollment past the 1 million mark, the Obama administration says.

7. Three teenagers were arrested on Sunday morning in Kilgore at an EZ Mart Convenience Store after they committed armed robbery at the store, Kilgore police say. Details here.
